In April, fourteen students of color flew to Virginia to tour Historically Black Universities and Colleges (HBCUs) with three staff members of color. The tour gave students the opportunity to imagine life at these colleges, while connecting with other students of color.
Challenge day used to be a time honored tradition at Albany High School, until its cancellation for the 2024-2025 school year. Challenge day was a program where sophmores were taken out of class, along with teacher volunteers and leaders, to participate in small-group team bonding activities. AP Art History at Albany High School, will no longer be provided next year, leaving many students and teachers disappointed.
Between community college and Division 1, only 7 percent of high school athletes make it to the collegiate level. This year, Albany High School has produced many who will be taking the next step in their athletic careers. The athletes we chose to highlight are seniors Sisseline Lovejoy, Imani West, Michael Richards, and Deron Lyons.

Book lovers can all agree that since the beginning of film adaptations, books have often been done wrong. I remember the first time I saw A Wrinkle in Time in the theatre, and even though the movie itself was beautifully made, I hated the fact that they didn't involve more of Aunt Beast. From then on, I claimed to despise the movie because it did not correctly cover the book. This is an experience I know has been shared by a lot of bookworms.
Talented students prepare for their roles in this year’s school musical, Chicago, promising drama, music, and a mix of choreographed dances straight out of the 1920s. Known for its iconic jazz music and interpretation of fame and corruption, Chicago opened Wednesday and will be showcased two more times today at 2p.m. and 7p.m.
