Seniors win Homecoming
Friday, November 2, 2007. The day the seniors kicked ass. Now I don’t mean to ignore the wonderful efforts put forth by the Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors, but filling the glass tower with pink balloons is a colossal legacy-maker.
An enthusiastic Pep Rally featured a Napoleon-Dynamite-awkward Kevin James in an eye-catching teacher dance-off, ending with the stunning defeat of Jeff Castle. Following the commotion of the rally, the excitement swarmed onto the muddy grass of the amphitheater, as droves of students waited eagerly for the Lip Sync.
The Sophomores kicked it off with a splendid start, in a well-coordinated display incorporating the Lion King soundtrack, among others. The class of 2010 showed us all that they can be just as energetic as the Juniors and Seniors, and just as organized.
The Juniors offered a mostly hip-hop based performance, featuring a troupe of costume-changing ’09 fanatics showing us their spirit, graphically. Culminating in Moulin Rouge’s Lady Marmalade, the zealous Juniors really got down and dirty.
In an ardent show of Senior pride, ’08 stormed the stage with—an interpretative dance in formal attire. Well-coordinated and honestly funny, A Million Ways paved the stage for the buzzing action that was to come.
Many costume changes later, the Seniors closed with a home-brewed mix expressing ‘08’s unrivaled superiority. As expected, they triumphed with first place in Lip Sync, and with the most people in costume for every single spirit day this week. It can be said that Seniors always win at the Homecoming events just because they are Seniors, but by the end of this week, the class of ’08 proved it didn’t need the 4,000 Senior bonus points to vanquish all rivals.

[But i still say, we owned you guys in the decorations.] ‘09, ‘11, and ‘12 better watch out next year. Cuz once ’08s gone…WE TAKING OVER.
