No students show up to police meeting
The meeting concerning the increased Albany Police presence and their actions on campus was canceled today after no students showed up. The meeting was designed as an open discussion for students to speak up about Police activities this year that could be considered negative. Staff members also hoped that the meeting could work as a jumping off point to plan a larger discussion among the Albany High community. The meeting was announced yesterday during morning announcements. The next date for another meeting is April 16, either during lunch or advisory. Details to follow.
If you have concerns or complaints about the currently increased presence of Albany Police on our campus, it is highly advised that you attend this meeting and let your voice be heard.

ok so the morning announcements are definitely not the best way to get the word out because nobody can ever hear them and those who can dont listen very intently.

you guys realize that the only reason why no one knew about the meeting is because the school did not want anyone to know. they do not want us to fight back and work together against the school. the classes of 04 and 05 would have school walk outs and not get in trouble we need to stop being controlled by the school.
the school works for us we do not work for them

The whole idea of the meeting was to open up a dialogue agree student, so that we could voice our complaints. It’s also the reason why I posted this notification, mostly so people would know to go to the next one. The school is actually making an effort finally, we may as well meet them halfway.
