Lady cougars defeat Las Lomas 5-0
Led by an outstanding performance by sophomore pitcher Sara Muse, the Albany Cougars defeated the Las Lomas Knights in a second-round NCS softball game on Wednesday, May 21st.
The Cougars bats came out on fire from early on. Senior twins Joan and Laura Cannon, two of the top players in the BSAL, led an early onslaught of runs, and the Cougars took an early 2-0 lead going into the top of the second.
The Knights were unable to get anything going offensively all night long, and their frustration was evident throughout the entire game. The Cougars began manufacturing runs for the last few innings of the ball game, and by the end of the 7th inning, the Cougars had built a 5-0 lead in a contest that was not as close as the scoreboard indicated.
Be sure to come out and support the Lady Cougars, as they take on the Heritage Patriots in a highly anticipated NCS semifinal match up tomorrow evening at 5 p.m. at Memorial Park.

I, for one, and I know I speak for many, would like to thank all the parents and players from ABGSL who heard the call and came out to watch our Lady Cougars outplay the Heritage Patriots. This town really sticks together, and it’s such a pleasure to see all these enthusiastic supporters of Women’s sports. Thanks…and Go Cougars!!

Tim C., you are such a Jolly Rancher! Ditto the above comments,
too bad the seniors were in LA and missed coming out!
Come to UCB and support your Cougars. Thanks also to ALL who donated
a lot of money so that Albany High Students did not have to pay to get in!
Great ideas come from great people. Thank you Judy K.!
