Homecoming Wednesday - Halloween
This Hallows Eve, the school woke bedecked with all a manner of festively colored Class-of-2010 regalia. They did not shy from the easily available Halloween decorations. Stuffed bags with jack-o-lantern faces, a string of paper pumpkins, and a store-bought banner reading: “Happy Halloween” covered the schools main entrance.
It appears as though all the classes are following the seniors lead in decorating the school in their respective class colors. What color will appear Friday morning is still a mystery.
In other mysterious news, my favorite costumes were worn by a group of seniors who dressed as the six characters from the ever-popular board game and movie “Clue.” Professor Plum, Mr. Green, Colonel Mustard, Ms. Scarlet, Ms. White and Ms. Peacock all came with their murder weapons and character cards. A good costume that was actually just too cool for school (against the rules) was Ash from Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness, because its main features were a chainsaw hand –that I saw first hand- and a shot gun.
The Best Unplanned-Group-Costume Award goes out to everyone who dressed as any one from Hogwartz School of Witch Craft and Wizardry. Honorable mentions are awarded to every girl who did not dress as a sexy version of a civil servant. The Most Store-Bought costume Award is given to Kamal Gamache-Mansore and Jay Healy, and any one else who purchased their duds.
All one need to make a legitimate costume is 1) go to a thrift store and find an interesting article of clothing, 2) use your imagination 3) construct your costume around said article. Last year my costume was one piece of clothing, a snow suit. I was Han Solo on the Hoth Planet.
I’m not a nerd. Keep up the spirit.
