Food For Thought; Survey USA Polls Every State

SUSA has released a new poll in each an every state simulating general election possibilities. The Muse has, again, put together what the electoral map would look like if elections were held today, with Red for Republicans, Blue for Democrats, and beige-ish for tossups. The first map is Obama’s performance against McCain and the second is Clinton’s.

Obama Electoral Map

Barack Obama: These latest poll results show that nothing is really out of reach for either Obama or McCain, and that this will be an epic battle with very few uncontested states. Obama could win anywhere from 20 to 34 states, and puts 12 red states from 2004 within reach. His best case scenario is winning 420-118, his worst case scenario is losing 287-251.

Clinton Electoral Map

The most surprising things about the new SUSA polls is that they give Clinton a chance at taking West Virginia, Tennessee, and her husband’s home state of Arkansas. These are the first polls that suggests she brings any states to the table Obama doesn’t bring. Clinton right now could win 12 to 28 states, with her biggest weaknesses being the ten blue states that she doesn’t have a statistically significant lead in and/or trails in. For instance, she trails by 5% in Oregon. Her best case scenario is a 357-181 win, her worst case scenario is a 382-156 loss.

  1. I think you should consider changing the title of this blog from “the muse” to “reasons why you should be ashamed of yourself if you didn’t vote for Obama in the primary”
