Feeling Stuffed?

If the hallways seem more crowded than usual, you’re right.  Enrollment at Albany High has gone up 27 students from last year, making the total enrollment 1279 students.  That’s 279 more students than what we are told the school was built to hold.  Overcrowding has been an issue for several years, but are there any solutions?  What is causing the overcrowding?  What do administrators have to say about the problem and what is being done about it?  Find out more in the upcoming issue of The Cougar.

  1. 27 students should not make the school that much more crowded, its the stupid freshies that won’t move fast enough!

we should just move the people who do nothing other than produce CO2 to the 4th floor and since there is no fourth floor they can just sit on the roof and continue with their unproductive actions! cheap and effective, i am such a genius:)

  2. HOW ABOUT KICKING OUT PEOPLE WHO DONT LIVE IN ALBANY THAT DONT ADD ANYTHING TO THE SCHOOL? THEY ARE JUST BRINGING DOWN ALBANYS GREAT REPUTATION AND MAKING EVERYTHING WORSE.

  3. Albany’s graduation rate is above 90% one of the best public schools in the bay area. Compared to oakland where more than 60% of students do not graduate from high school i think it’s a STRETCH by saying those that live out of district and are “bringing down albany’s great reputation and making everything worse” when you compare albany to certain schools that are more impoverished like some in oakland and other lower class neighborhoods albany has a substantially better “reputation” for being a good school.

93- 32… I feel greatful that Albany has open doors to people from out of district

  4. you and i, are just saying that because we live out of district.

the truth is more ppl == more $$ and as long as out of district ppl arent failing it doesnt hurt the school, only students in the hallways

  5. i used to live in albany before i moved. The truth is many of the kids who live out of district are using someone else’s address in order to go to albany. I myself had to apply at the district office to still continue to go to albany. Indeed Albany was made to only host a thousand students however the more students that do attend class… the more money the school makes.

  6. what a FABULOUS PICTURE OMGGGGGGG
