Diversity week begins March 31

Students at last year’s International Food DayDiversity week, one of few traditions here at Albany High, is fast approaching with some new twists this year. To further explore the various talents that make us diverse, the leadership class has organized the first AHS Olympics.

To participate, students can submit a roster of their team and the name of a country that they would like to represent to a box provided in the attendance office as soon as possible. The teams will compete in various sporting events the week of March 24 including a footrace, volleyball, basketball and ping-pong.

Friday March 28th is the much-awaited International Food Day. During this extended lunch period, students will be able to purchase a variety of food to be sold by clubs.

Due to scheduling conflicts, the Diversity Rally will take place the following Wednesday on April 2, where students will be performing to represent their club. This is also when the winning Olympic team will be announced and presented with their prize.
