Block B Schedule
General
1. Reminder - registration for the Saturday, Oct. 18th PSAT begins
Monday, Sept. 29th @ lunchtime outside the bookroom window. Priority
registration for juniors is Monday through Wednesday. Sophomores can
begin registration on Thursday, Oct. 2nd and 3rd. Open registration for
9th, 10th and 11th graders will continue until all tests are sold. Cost
is $23.00, please have exact change (this makes the line go faster) or
check payable to AHS.
2. FRESHMEN: a) meeting today has been changed to Friday, beginning
lunch, Rm. 205. Re: homecoming
b) Looking for a way to show your school spirit? Come to the outside of
the bookroom window during lunch on Thursday or Friday and pre-order
your class t-shirt for 2008-09.
3. Student Tutors: Please turn your application forms in ASAP this week.
I will be making up the list and need to have your form if you want to
be on it. If you’d like to be a tutor and missed the meeting, see Ms.
Sumberg in the Counseling Office to get an application form.
4. Intra-Mural Football: playing today - 2400 vs Swayze Crew
5. Today’s lunch menu: BRC Burrito, BBQ Chicken Pizza, Chicken Fajita
Salad & Deli Sandwiches
College/Career
1. College visits this week: Thursday, 9/25, Academy of Art, 9:20. Sign
up in the Counseling Office at least one day in advance; teacher’s
permission is required. See Ms. Sumberg in the Counseling Office with
questions.
2. Seniors planning on applying to UC’s, CSU’s or Private Colleges -
plan on attending the evening “College Application Process Workshop”
Thursday, Sept. 25th from 7:00 - 8:30 PM in the Little Theater. This is
for both senior students and their parents. AHS Counseling Department
3. *The September issue of Future Focus*, which is full of information
on Volunteer Opportunities, Contests and Scholarships, Educational
Activities outside of school, and Jobs and Internships, as well as
College Information, has been sent to the PTA E-tree and is posted on
the Bulletin Board in the front lobby of the main building as well as
bulletin boards in the library and the arts building. Look for it on the
new AHS website (Counseling Office –> Jobs & Internships –> click link
on left). Don’t miss it!!!!
4. Students taking the after-school SAT prep class: It starts this
Thursday, 3:30 to 5:30, Rm. 217. You must bring a calculator. See Ms.
Sumberg in the counseling office if this is a problem.

2. WRESTLING SIGN UP MEETING FRIDAY, 12:00, WRESTLING ROOM. COME IF
