Block A Schedule

General

1. Reminder - registration for the Saturday, Oct. 18th PSAT begins
Monday, Sept. 29th @ lunchtime outside the bookroom window. Priority
registration for juniors is Monday through Wednesday. Sophomores can
begin registration on Thursday, Oct. 2nd and 3rd. Open registration for
9th, 10th and 11th graders will continue until all tests are sold. Cost
is $23.00, please have exact change (this makes the line go faster) or
check payable to AHS.

2. Come cheer on the Women’s Tennis Team today vs Salesian. Good Luck
Lady Cougars!

3. This is a message from your friendly AHS Recycling Team. Please
remember to recycle using the yellow and blue bins only. All of the
following materials may be put into these bins: paper, cardboard,
aluminum cans and plastic bottles. Please only these items in the bins.
No pizza boxes, milk cartons, candy/chip wrappers, cup of noodle boxes,
or any other plastic cups, etc. Please never any garbage or trash. Only
paper, cardboard, aluminum cans and plastic bottles! Thanks for your
support!

4. FRESHMAN: a) meet Friday, beginning lunch, Rm. 205. Re: homecoming
b) Looking for a way to show your school spirit? Come to the outside of
the bookroom window during lunch today and tomorrow to pre-order your
class t-shirt for 2008-09.

5. Seniors report directly to the gym during advisory on Friday (9/26).
The rep from Achievers will be here to give you information on
graduation caps & gowns.

6. Intra-Mural Football: playing today — A.L.B. Bad Boyz vs Flank Steak

7. Today’s lunch menu: Kung Pao Chicken, Chicken Garden Salad, Turkey
Tacos & Chicken Cheese Sandwich

College/Career

1. College visits this week: Today: Academy of Art, 9:20. Sign up in the
Counseling Office at least one day in advance; teacher’s permission is
required. See Ms. Sumberg in the Counseling Office with questions.

2. The Albany Public Library offers free online tutoring and test
preparation that students can connect to from home if you have Internet
access. Go to the library this Saturday, Sept. 27, at 10:30am to learn
how to access this help. Questions? Contact Vivian Jaquette,

Clubs/Team Announcements

1. A Poetry Club will be starting soon. Please come to Rm. 202 today
during lunch and sign up.

2. CHILDREN INT’L - TODAY - BEG. LUNCH - RM. 216

3. WRESTLING sign up meeting Friday, 12:00pm Wrestling Room. Please come
if interested!

4. SOL LATINO first meeting Tuesday, lunch, Rm. 211. Learn what’s NOT
being taught in the textbooks; discuss current issues that affect the
Latino community (the Dream Act, ICE). Experience the unity of Raza.
Lunch will be provided.

5. SUPERHEROES CLUB MEETS EVERY THURSDAY AT LUNCHTIME IN THE LIBRARY.

Faculty

1. Please excuse the Cross Country Team @ 2:00pm today.

2. Please excuse the following golfers at 2pm today: NaRa Pak, Joy Kim,
