Block A Schedule

General

1. Seniors planning on applying to UC’s, CSU’s or Private Colleges -
plan on attending the evening “College Application Process Workshop”
next Thursday, Sept. 25th from 7:00 - 8:30 PM in the theater. This is
for both senior students and their parents.

2. Give it up for the Varsity girls Volleyball team on getting 10th
place at the Deer Valley Tournament last Saturday in Antioch. Kaitlyn
Giblin was named to the all tourney team. Way to go Kaitlyn !!!

3. Come support your Cougars today vs. Piedmont at home (JV 4:30 VAR
6:00) and again this Saturday for the Albany Challenge Tournament.

4. Attention!!!!!!!!!!! Pictures are here. Please come to the attendance
office and see Ms. Woods at lunch or after school ONLY to pick them up.

5. The Red Cross Thanks you for your donations to the hurricane victims.

6. Attention AHS French students: We are planning another trip to
France! There will be an informational meeting this today at lunch in
Room 208…. See Ms. Kaiser if you are not able to attend for
information about a parent meeting. The trip is open to all current and
former AHS French students.

7. Today’s lunch menu: Teriyaki Chicken Wrap, Chicken Garden Salad,
Tacos, and Fried Chicken and Fries

College/Career

1. College visits this week: Today. 9/18: UC Santa Barbara, 1:35; Fri.,
9/19, Stony Brook University, 11:30. Sign up in the Counseling Office at
least one day in advance; teacher’s permission is required. See Ms
Sumberg, who is replacing Ms Burns in the Counseling Office for the next
few months, with questions.

3. PTPS is offering a FREE 10-week SAT Prep class taught by UC Berkeley
students at Albany High starting next week. First class will be Thurs,
Sept 25, after school and then it will be every Mon & Thurs for 2 hours
after school. Juniors will have priority. See Ms. Sumberg, who is
substituting for Ms. Burns, in the counseling office to sign up ASAP!

Clubs/Team Announcements

1. All boys interested in playing soccer this year should attend a
meeting Today, beg. lunch, Rm. 106.

2. CHEM CLUB - FRIDAY - LUNCH - RM. 303 - Re: Club Rush Day & elect officers

Faculty

1. Please release the following golfers at 2pm Today: NaRa Pak, Joy Kim,
Mari Yamato, Alicia Lee, Kiyomi Doty, Emily Sun, Nina Waloewandja

2. Please excuse players of Women’s tennis team today at 2:15 pm for an
away match vs. John Swett
