Block B Schedule

General

1. Seniors report directly to the gym during advisory today. The rep
from Achievers will be here to give you information on graduation caps &
gowns.

2. The library hours have returned to last year’s hours. The library
will be open Monday - Thursday from 7 am to 5 pm and on Fridays from 7
am to 4 pm.

3. If you are planning on going to the inauguration with Close-up in
January and would like to apply for a scholarship, please see Ms. Hudson
in room 201, or look on Schoolloop. Applications are due Monday,
September 29th.

4. PSAT registration begins Monday @ lunchtime outside the bookroom
window. Priority to juniors. Cost: $23.00, please have exact change
(this makes the line go faster) or check payable to AHS

5. Saturday Football Games Will Be Played in Crockett - The Cougars take
on Monte Vista Christian this Saturday, September 27, at John Swett High
School in Crockett. Albany is the “home team” although Cougar Field is
not yet ready. JV plays at 11 a.m. and the Varsity at 1:30pm. Come out
and support our Cougars as they near the end of their year-and-a-half on
the road. John Swett HS is at 1098 Pomona St. Take I-80 East, exit at
Crockett/Port Costa, turn left on Pomona.

6. This is a message from your friendly AHS Recycling Team. Please
remember to recycle using the yellow and blue bins only. All of the
following materials may be put into these bins: paper, cardboard,
aluminum cans and plastic bottles. Please only these items in the bins.
No pizza boxes, milk cartons, candy/chip wrappers, cup of noodle boxes,
or any other plastic cups, etc. Please never any garbage or trash. Only
paper, cardboard, aluminum cans and plastic bottles! Thanks for your
support!

7. Today’s lunch menu: Turkey Cordon Bleu Wrap, Pepperoni Pizza, Chef
Salad & Burger & Fries

College/Career

1. The September Senior Bulletin is available in the Counseling Office,
and on the AHS website. Important college, scholarship, and financial
aid information is included in the bulletin.

2. The Albany Public Library offers free online tutoring and test
preparation that students can connect to from home if you have Internet
access. Go to the library this Saturday, Sept. 27, at 10:30am to learn
how to access this help. Questions? Contact Vivian Jaquette,

Clubs/Team Announcements

1. WRESTLING sign up meeting today, 12:00pm Wrestling Room. Please come
if interested!

2. SOL LATINO first meeting Tuesday, lunch, Rm. 211. Learn what’s NOT
being taught in the textbooks; discuss current issues that affect the
Latino community (the Dream Act, ICE). Experience the unity of Raza.
Lunch will be provided.

3. SUPERHEROES CLUB MEETS EVERY THURSDAY AT LUNCHTIME IN THE LIBRARY.

4. RED CROSS CLUB - NO MEETING TODAY. WE WILL MEET NEXT FRIDAY

5. Do you want to be an officer for the Chemistry Club? Come to Rm. 303
to sign up. Ballot will be created on Monday.
