Block B Schedule
General
1. Seniors planning on applying to UC’s, CSU’s or Private Colleges -
plan on attending the evening “College Application Process Workshop”
next Thursday, Sept. 25th from 7:00 - 8:30 PM in the theater. This is
for both senior students and their parents.
2. Attention!!!!!!!!!!! Pictures are here. Please come to the attendance
office and see Ms. Woods lunch or after school ONLY to pick them up.
3. Trip to Europe being formed. Come today to Rm. 215 at lunch if you
are interested in the planning stage.
4. Interested in the new field of Green-Collar jobs? Come learn about
careers in solar installation and other green industries on Saturday,
September 27th, from 1:00 to 5:00PM. There will be workshops, an
environmentally-friendly walking solar tour and a live solar
installation. A number of organizations, including Atchison Village,
Communities for a Better Environment, NorCal Solar, Rainforest Action
Network, Rubicon Programs Inc, Solar Richmond, and West County Toxics
Coalition are hosting this event to promote green-collar jobs in
Richmond. If you’d like to attend, come to the WorkAbility office for
details and directions.
5. Today’s lunch menu: cheeseburger, taco pizza, chef salad, chicken
enchiladas
College/Career
1. College visits this week: Today. Stony Brook University, 11:30,
Monday, 9/22, Queens University, 8:35; Thursday, 9/25, Academy of Art,
9:20. Sign up in the Counseling Office at least one day in advance;
teacher’s permission is required. See Ms. Sumberg in the Counseling
Office with questions.

3. PTPS is offering a FREE 10-week SAT Prep class taught by UC Berkeley
students at Albany High starting next week. First class will be Thurs,
Sept 25, after school and then it will be every Mon & Thurs for 2 hours
after school. Juniors will have priority. See Ms. Sumberg, who is
substituting for Ms. Burns, in the counseling office to sign up ASAP!
4. Seniors who are interested in the $32,000 UC Berkeley Incentive Award
should attend the informational meeting with a UC representative today
in room 217 during lunch. See Ms. Lilienthal if you are interested in
the program, but cannot attend.
