General
1. BUILDING WITH BOOKS BAKE SALE TODAY AFTER SCHOOL.
2. Attention AP Comp Gov’t and Model UN Students: Permission slips for the Feb. 21 program at the Asia Society are available from Mr. James or Ms. Mansourian. If you want to go to the program, both sides of the slip must be completed and returned to Mr. James by Thursday, Feb. 14th.
3. “YOU better cut Loose” NOW or miss it! Tickets are now on sale for our last weekend of the musical, “Footloose”. Contact Mr. Bryant in Rm. 20 or ANY cast and member at lunch to reserve your tickets for the show. Performances are tonight at 7:00p and runs through Saturday February 9. Friday night and Saturday evening performances are expected to sell out so reserve your tickets TODAY!
4. WRESTLING – North Coast Section dual meet Tournament tomorrow, away, all day.
3. All students who participated in the US Physics Olympiad must complete final registration procedures today at lunch with Ms. Carlock in Rm. 303.
5. SENIOR CHALLENGE DAY is coming, March 19. Sign-ups are in the counseling office starting TUES Feb. 12! Please only sign YOURSELF up. The last day for sign ups will be Feb 14. Depending on the number of sign-ups, we may not be able to take everyone. Please direct questions to your counselor, or to Shelly Ball in Rm. 111.
6. Vivace will be selling Valentine’s Day Singing-Grams @ lunch time for $1 starting Friday in front of the atrium. They will be performed in class 3rd or 5th period on Feb. 14, 2008.
7. Go Mighty Cougars! Albany has 3 Science Bowl Teams that will travel to the Lawrence Hall of Science Sat., 2/9 to defend their #1 Title in the Bay Area. Varsity team is currently #1 in all Calif. and the competition is regionally fierce. Good Luck to Captain Jackie Quinn – Ian Allen, Elise Cai, George Shen, & Bei He. We have a few spots for spectators, please sign up with Ms. Carlock if you wish to attend.
College/Career
1. Juniors: we will be offering a free SAT prep class taught by UC Berkeley students, to be held Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 - 5:30 starting next week on the AHS campus. If you are interested in signing up please see Ms Burns in the Counseling Office.
