This race was the conclusion to this year’s Albany High Cross Country Season for the Varsity team, while the Junior Varsity teams finished on November 1, at the BSAL Championships at Point Pinole Regional Park. There, the Cougars scored very well, ending their season on a good note.

Varsity runners Jessica Quinn, Jackie Quinn, Natalie Buck Bauer, Will Mullaney, and Brian Shea also were made All-League BSAL for their outstanding running throughout the season.

The 71 FroshSoph (Freshmen and Sophomores only) Boy runners started off the meet, and although Albany does not usually run a FroshSoph team (boys or girls), they finished the race in first place, led by Aiden Juengling Bean (1st place), Chris Gioia, (2nd place) and Miguel Mejia (5th place).

After the FroshSoph race came the Junior Varsity Girls, but unfortunately the Albany team could not score because of the lack of girl runners. The third race of the meet was the Junior Varsity boys, who finished off their 6 and 0 season with a strong second place finish, edging out schools such as Saint Mary’s and Berkeley High. Jake Phillips led the Albany runners, finishing 2nd out of 70, followed by Ian Allen (6th place), and Kevin Quirolo (7th place).

Following the JV races came the varsity runners, and leading them off was the Varsity Girls, who entered the race with an amazing 6 and 1 record, and who also ended their season with a second place finish. Freshman Jessica Quinn led the Albany pack finishing 4th out of 55 runners, followed by Jackie Quinn (8th place) and Natalie Buck-Bauer (12th place).

The final race of the meet was that of the Varsity Boys, who entered the final race of the regular season with a 5 and 1 record. The Cougar varsity team had a strong showing, finishing third, led by Senior Will Mullaney who finished 9th, followed closely by Brian Shea (12th out of 61).
