Cougars Breeze By Emery 50-0

The Albany High varsity football Cougars took an easy victory last Saturday with its 50-0 win over the Emery High Spartans. Emery High, which has struggled to field a team the past few years, put up a good fight, but couldn’t keep up with the experience and skill of the Cougars.
The first quarter saw touchdowns from Clifton Brown and an interception by Nana Yiadom. This was followed by much of the same during the second quarter, with touchdowns by Duane Hooper, Delroy Russell and Brown; interceptions from Russell and Jack Bartlett.
By half time, the deficit was enormous, at 38-0, and it was obvious there was no way back for the Spartans. However, they kept their heads up and played out the rest of the game. Some new faces were introduced into the post-half time scorebook with a touchdown from Michael Guant and a fumble recovery by Cole Abrahamsen.
All and all, the Cougars looked sharp, they were able to build solid attacks up the field, most of them resulting in touchdowns. Although a comfortable win, the game was a good stepping-stone and should help propel the Cougars to further victories.
The Cougars played Mission San Jose, in Fremont, on Thursday night, September 18.

  2. Y’all were 2-0 last year too. And without an experienced line, how do you expect to carry into league play?

  3. albany football sucks. the team always thinks they’re so great after they beat the worst teams in the country and they talk a bunch of smack. then they lose the last 10 games of the season… and STILL talk smack like they something special. like CLOCKWORK.

face it, you suck. the truth hurts.

  4. Albany truly does suck. You guys could’ve went 2-0 but since you used an illegal player, now you what, 0-2,0-3? You guys are lame. when you come to our house we gonna smash even if you cheat. Albany: 0-10!

  5. amen to that brotha. i don’t know where you go but i know it’s true
