Cougars Blank Mustangs, Gain NCS Final

Riding the bat of sophomore Ellie Arkin, the pitching of junior Sara Muse and a sound defense, the Albany High Cougars gained their second consecutive NCS softball final after beating San Marin 5-0 at home today.

Arkin provided all of the offense needed with a three-run homer to left center. Arkin also played a solid defense that collectively shut out the Mustangs.

Muse pitched another complete game, bringing her overall record to 13-3.

The 22-3 Cougars will play in the championship game Saturday May 30 at Chabot College. They will play the winner of the Bishop O’Dowd – Del Norte game, also played today.

Game time and opponent details to follow.
