Amnesty President caught sending funds to Sudan
Amnesty International president Larry Cox has been caught in the middle of a huge money laundering scandal that leaves AI coffers completely empty. Mr. Cox took funds and funneled them to Sudan in order to fuel the current genocide. Since the genocide swept the global spotlight in 2003, Amnesty International’s popularity has skyrocketed. With more nations focused on global warming and the economic crisis, there seem to be less nations willing to host mass genocides. The closing of Guantanamo Bay couldn’t have come at a worse time for AI and this concerning trend of socially responsible states has struck fear into AI’s president. With recent news of the ICC calling for the arrest of Sudanese president Al-Bashir, AI feared it would lose its viewer base.
